Math Superbowl

Math Superbowl

The 2024 North County Math Superbowl was a huge success! We were thrilled to host this years event at our very own Lakeview Junior High! We want to thank each student, coach and administrator who helped to make the day so successful. We also want to thank our community donors, and SESLOC Federal Credit Union for their generosity.

Save the Date: The date for the 2025 Math Superbowl will be announced this fall!

All teachers and students in grades 4, 5 and 6 in schools throughout north Santa Barbara County are invited to participate in a mathematics competition event that is exciting and challenging. However, due to space restrictions, we have to limit participation to 25 schools. Please note that schools will be registered on a first come, first serve basis so it is in each school’s best interest to return the School Registration Form as soon as possible to assure a place in the event. The entry fee for each school is $150.

Each school may use a screening process of its own design in order to select four students from each grade level who will best represent the school at the Math Superbowl.

School and individual awards will be given. See below for our reigning winners!

2024 Overall School Winners

North County Mathematics Superbowl 2024 was held on March 26 at Lakeview Junior High School.

1st-Tied Joe Nightingale
1st-Tied Pine Grove
2nd Buena Vista
3rd Ballard School

The Superbowl consists of four parts. North County schools bring three teams of four students in grades 4, 5, & 6. Students start with two individual tests. After a short break, students separate into their grade level teams to solve five word problems. The final part of the competition is the hands-on building challenge. This is always the most exciting part of the Superbowl!
