Orcutt Union School District is excited about the opportunity to provide your child with a computer device for use while they are a student in the District. We believe this plan will assist our students to interact and succeed in school and be ready for college or career and beyond. Chromebooks (grades 3-12) and iPads (grades TK-2) were selected for ease of use, functionality and the ability to travel safely to and from school. All student devices are filtered and monitored by OUSD. When students use the devices at home, adults can set expectations for location, length of time and use; just like we use guidelines to monitor use in school.

Orcutt Union School District provides instructional materials to all students. Students are responsible for the general care of their textbooks, materials and district-issued technology. Devices that are broken or fail to work properly must be reported to the school media specialist for an evaluation of the equipment by our district technology support personnel. Special care must be taken to protect the device at all times. District-issued technology is the property of the district. All users and their parents/guardians must familiarize themselves with the following care instructions and information.
General Precautions:
Responsibility to pay for damages:
Any student device that stops working because of a hardware or software issue will be replaced by the district at no cost to parents.
