Orcutt Academy Enrollment for 2025-2026
The enrollment lottery for 2025-2026 for Orcutt Academy High School and the Academy's K-8 campus in Los Alamos was held on February 5, 2025. A post-lottery drawing for all post-lottery enrollment applications received through May 6, 2025, will be held on May 7, 2025. The post-lottery drawing will fill any available seats and order grade-level wait lists beyond those established by the February 5 lottery. We invite interested families to submit post-lottery applications.
OUSD-Planning for Future Enrollment
The Orcutt Union School District is growing, and action is needed to accommodate the additional students we expect.
Our latest demographic projections have our district adding over 240 students by the 2030-2031 school year. We also are seeing that Patterson Road and Pine Grove schools will be most affected by projected enrollment growth, as several new housing projects are anticipated within their boundaries.
Looking to the future, we have identified boundary adjustments that can be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year to make room for additional students at our elementary sites. These changes adhere to objectives established by the OUSD Board of Trustees; examples include maximizing fiscal resources, giving students the opportunity to attend their neighborhood school, and keeping neighborhoods together to the fullest extent possible. Seven boundary change options were presented to the OUSD Board of Trustees in November, and in January the Board is expected to decide on its preferred options.
So all of us can have one point of reference regarding potential boundary adjustments, we have created a web page that includes the following:
- Background on our district’s growing enrollment;
- Objectives and timeline for a decision;
- Information on each of the seven school boundary options, including (1) schools affected, (2) description of the change, (3) rationale for the option, and (4) a map showing the area affected;
- Responses to Frequently Asked Questions; and
- Information on Intradistrict Transfers for interested families.
